Athenica Environmental Services Inc., an environmental consulting firm, has an immediate opening for a Project Coordinator. This role is a pivotal position that involves coordinating various environmental engineering projects while also managing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Main responsibilities include:

*Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of environmental consulting projects

*Act as a liaison between clients, management, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project progress

*Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion

*Assist in the preparation of project proposals, reports, and presentations

*Support project managers in maintaining project documentation and records

*Manage office administrative tasks pertaining to the project, responding to emails, and handling correspondence

*Organize and maintain project files, databases, and records in both digital and physical format

*Assist with invoicing, expense tracking, and timesheet management

*Assist with filing, scanning documents into the server and keep all documents organized for deliverables to clients

*Provide general administrative support to the team as needed and assist with answering telephones

* Foster cross-team collaboration to help project team members complete project tasks and produce deliverables

Requirements:

*Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred

*Experience in project coordination or administrative roles, preferably in an engineering or environmental firm

Athenica Environmental Services has an immediate opening in its Industrial Hygiene Department for an Environmental Scientist in our Lead based paint unit. The desired candidate should be a team-oriented individual with excellent communication abilities and professional judgment, technical, a positive attitude, desire to learn, and a strong work ethic, with an ability to handle concurrent assignments for multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years professional experience in the environmental consulting field and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or closely related field. Candidate must be comfortable working indoors or outdoors, be highly proficient in Excel, and have a working knowledge and understanding of standards, regulations, industry practices, and health and safety protocols applicable to environmental investigation. This position provides a significant opportunity for advancement within our growing department.

Main responsibilities:

  • Utilize basic scientific principles, conduct data collection and evaluation of site survey findings
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of lead based paint reports
  • Assist in scheduling, coordination and work practices in field personnel
  • QA/QC of work performed in field and reviewing all field personnel documentation

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of professional experience in the environmental consulting field and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology/Environmental Science or closely related field. Candidate must be comfortable working indoors or outdoors, and have a working knowledge and understanding of standards, regulations, industry practices, and health and safety protocols applicable to environmental investigation and remediation projects. This position provides a significant opportunity for advancement within our growing department.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs),
  • Prepare and update environmental investigation reports
  • Acts as field task leader for Phase II Testing Studies, oversee the installation of soils and groundwater monitoring wells for compliance with the work plan or proposal and applicable regulations/guidance documents, operates environmental field instrumentation/equipment for sample collection,
  • Prepare field documentation (field notes, boring logs, etc.) and data summary tables
  • Provide field oversight of environmental remedial programs,
  • Coordinate with required subcontractors, such as drillers and laboratories,
  • As required, communicate project status to management and identify key issues requiring prompt resolution by management.

Must have:

Athenica is looking for experienced Asbestos Project Monitors / Air Sampling Technicians to act as the company’s asbestos technical representatives during asbestos abatement projects in various industry sectors.

LICENSES REQUIRED:

  • NSDOL Asbestos Project Monitor/Air Sampling Technician Certificate

EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE:
– High school graduate with a minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
– Good oral and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee asbestos abatement work to insure that work is performed in accordance and in compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws.
  • Determine and monitor final air clearance during asbestos abatements.
  • Collect PCM and TEM air samples and properly record chain of custodies, daily logs, and maintain involvement in project oversight and result reporting in fulfillment with assessment and monitoring requirements of asbestos abatements.
  • Monitoring may include: Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Assessments; Asbestos and/or Lead Investigations; and Asbestos and/or Lead abatement monitoring.
  • Position entails frequent travel throughout New York City and Long Island. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
