About Athenica

Since 1987, we have been providing a multi-disciplinary approach to comprehensive industrial hygiene and hazardous material services to both the public and private sector. During this time, three goals have guided the firm:

• Excellence in client representation,
• Professional integrity, and
• Value of our employees

The firm has always provided industrial hygiene services relating to asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and building surfaces coated with lead-based paint (LBP). In our pursuit to better serve our clients, Athenica expanded its services to include Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I and Phase II ESAs), design and oversight of soil and groundwater remediation projects, petroleum underground storage tank (UST) compliance programs, potable drinking water sampling, indoor air quality studies, mold abatement, and air permitting (i.e. Annual Air Quality reporting and Semi-annual New-Source Performance Standard (NSPS) reporting for regulated air emission facilities).
Successful representation of clients in the environmental consulting industry requires an ability to navigate through complex local, state, and federal regulations. Our experienced staff of engineers, environmental scientists, geologists, and industrial hygienists provides significant insight into the myriad of regulations acquired by years of practical, hands-on experience. Our clients know that they can depend on us to be their advocates and regulators, in turn, know they can count on us to propose solutions that are protective of human health and the environment.
We approach our projects with a consistent commitment to quality and reliability. We have the ability to assess, inspect, test, monitor, negotiate, evaluate, document, manage investigate, report and more. Our final work product reflects a thoughtful and relentless peer review process to ensure accuracy and precision.
Athenica understands that the value of its services depends upon the quality of its staff and that is why we are committed to helping our employees achieve their professional and personal goals. The firm recognizes and rewards the performance of its employees through competitive compensation packages, offering full tuition reimbursement for relevant course work, and encouraging employee attendance at seminars, conferences and workshops. Our work environment encourages team work and we strive for a healthy work-life balance. We are proud to report that our employees come from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds representing the melting pot of New York City. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.

As a result, one of our Brownfield projects recently won the prestigious New York City Brownfield Partnership Sustainable Remediation Award.
